Maybe 10-15 minutes prep? and no baking or stove using needed.
I was talking to a friend and she wanted to know if I had a recipe for 'something peanutbuttery'. I posited peanut butter fudge (droooooool) and we decided that she/we didn't want something quite that indulgent.
So I went to the interwebs and found a recipe for 3 ingredient gooey peanut butter bars. Cool.
But then I went to my pantry..and I didn't have the things it called for. I mean, I had peanut butter (I'm rarely without it)-but only a 1/4 bear of honey, and only one kind of cereal.
I'm a fan of using what you have...I had the following-
And no..I'm not sponsored by anyone but myself.
I'd hazard a guess (since it worked for me) that you could use different combos with this. The original recipe was cornflakes, peanut butter, and maple syrup OR honey.
4 cups Cherrios (as pictured)
1 cup almond butter
1 cup Mrs. Butterworth's
Melt the 1 cups in the microwave until you can stir it to combine and it's pourable
then pour it over top of the cereal that you've got in a big bowl-then stir that all up
Then put that mix into a very greased pan..
Let that set up for about 30-40 minutes...then cut it up and try not to eat all of them in one sitting. I limited myself to 1..but the kids have been steadily working on them all day.
Personally I'm digging on the combo of the cinnamon Cherrios (that also have little oaty bits in there with them), the gritty almond butter, and of course my sweet, sweet, Mrs. Butterworth's.
We'll get back to healthy/diet food one of these days. But in case it's still on your schedule to make something for your husband's office, or provide snacks for some-odd holiday party..you can whip these up super quick!
And if you do deviate, like I did..let me know what you try!
